Aerospace Technologies Group, Inc. (ATG) will relocate its manufacturing facilities from their current location in Boynton Beach, FL to their new, state-of-the-art, 60,000+ sq. ft. manufacturing facility located in the Florida Atlantic University (FAU) Research Park in Boca Raton, Florida. “With the new facility being just 10 miles from our current location, we are happy to say ALL our employees will be transitioning with us,” says Jeff Booher, ATG’s CFO.
The new location is close to FAU’s College of Engineering, providing ATG access to both the university engineering faculty and its facilities, as well as a large supply of engineering students to support ATG’s growth. The new facility’s three product assembly lines were designed using Toyota Production System theory. 5S and Lean Manufacturing concepts were embodied from the start in order to optimize production efficiency. "We anticipate that our new production system will enable ATG to offer standard lead times of as little as 2 weeks for many products," says Jean Freitas, ATG's Director of Operations. "This will position ATG as the only aircraft window shade manufacturer able to address very short lead-time opportunities." ATG's annual manufacturing capacity in the new facility is expected to exceed 18,000 units annually on a single shift, tripling ATG's current capabilities.
Executive Vice President of Sales Linna Falzone says, “We are very excited to have both the need and the opportunity for such a large expansion. We are looking forward to offering our customers all the benefits of our expanded capabilities.”
ATG's move is expected to be complete prior to January 1, 2011.
